Hãng xe ô tô MG (Morris Garages) ra đời năm 1924 tại Vương Quốc Anh. Với hơn 90 năm lịch sử, là biểu tượng của nền công nghiệp ô tô nước Anh. Thương hiệu xe hơi MG từng phá vỡ hơn 40 kỷ lục thế giới về tốc độ.
Sản phẩm đầu tiên của hãng xe ô tô MG có tên gọi là Old number One. Chiếc xe này được Cecil Kimber sáng chế vào năm 1924, đánh dấu cho sự khởi đầu của thương hiệu ô tô MG.
Tại Mỹ, thương hiệu ô tô MG từng giấy lên cơn sốt với mẫu xe MG TC vào năm 1945. Vào thời điểm này doanh số được ghi nhận lên đến 2000 xe khẳng định vị trí, tên tuổi của hãng xe ô tô MG.
Tại Anh, năm 1962 Hoàng tử Charles đã chọn mẫu xe MGC khi vào đại học. Cũng tại thời điểm này mẫu xe MGB được sản xuất lên đến 500.000 xe.

Ở thời điểm hiện tại, thương hiệu xe hơi MG được phân phối tại thị trường Việt Nam bởi Công ty TNHH TC Services Việt Nam. Đây là công ty con của tập đoàn Tan Chong – tập đoàn đa quốc gia, đa ngành ở Malaysia.
Tập đoàn Tan Chong được biết đến nhiều trong lĩnh vực sản xuất, lắp ráp và phân phối xe ô tô, có mạng lưới kinh doanh ở 16 nước, đặc biệt ở khu vực Đông Nam Á, trong đó có Việt Nam. Trước khi phân phối xe ô tô MG, TC Services Việt Nam từng là nhà phân phối chính thức của dòng xe NISSAN tại thị trường Việt Nam.
